The 98th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, 15 March 2026, with Nigerian-British actress Wunmi Mosaku among this year’s nominees.
Mosaku received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Sinners, placing her among the performers with Nigerian roots competing for one of Hollywood’s biggest honours.
The film also secured nominations for Michael B. Jordan in the Best Actor category and Delroy Lindo for Best Supporting Actor.
Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, is one of the films leading this year’s nominations alongside One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
The ceremony, widely known as the Academy Awards, will be hosted by Conan O’Brien.
