Crayon sparked controversy on Sunday after posting a series of messages on social media criticising the leadership of Mavin Records.

The 28-year-old singer, born Charles Chibueze Chukwu, shared several posts on X that mixed praise with sharp criticism of figures within the record label.

In one message, the Lagos-born artiste appeared friendly toward the label’s founder, Don Jazzy, before directing criticism at the label’s chief operating officer, Tega Oghenejobo.

Crayon wrote that Don Jazzy was “my boy” but described Oghenejobo as a “criminal” in another post.

The singer also suggested tensions with Rema, one of the label’s most successful artistes, while claiming that his own musical momentum had been affected.

At one point, Crayon declared that Mavin Records was “going down”, adding to speculation about a possible dispute with the label.

Crayon joined the label in 2019 through Blowtime Entertainment, an imprint affiliated with Mavin Records.

The posts also hinted at a potential exit from the label. The singer promoted a new entity called Olodum Entertainment and shared a booking contact linked to the brand.

Checks show that his recently released song Baami is distributed under the Olodum Entertainment imprint and does not carry Mavin Records branding.

In another message, Crayon asked designers to create a flag for the new label and offered a large cash reward for creative submissions.

It remains unclear whether the posts reflect a confirmed split from Mavin Records or if the singer’s account was compromised. Crayon has remained active on Instagram without reporting any hacking incident.

Neither Mavin Records nor its executives have publicly responded to the messages.
