The All Progressives Congress has scheduled the screening of aspirants seeking national offices ahead of its 2026 national convention.
In a notice issued by the party’s Aspirants’ Screening Committee, all candidates who have completed the purchase and submission of their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms have been invited to attend the exercise.
The screening will take place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, starting at 9:00am.
The party said attendance is compulsory, stressing that all aspirants must appear in person with relevant documents for verification.
The notice was signed by Isa Yuguda, secretary of the screening committee, and shared on the party’s official X account. It also included contact details for further enquiries.
According to the statement, the exercise is limited to aspirants who have fulfilled the nomination requirements, marking a critical stage in the lead-up to the convention.
The APC said the screening will verify credentials and ensure that only qualified candidates proceed in the contest for national leadership roles within the party.
The process forms part of preparations for the 2026 National Convention, where key officials are expected to emerge across various party structures.
Political observers see the screening as an early signal of internal positioning ahead of broader party contests, as the APC begins to shape its leadership ahead of future electoral cycles.
