Iran has dismissed claims by Donald Trump that Washington is negotiating with Tehran and that a peace deal may be near.
In a video released by Fars News Agency on Wednesday, a spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters said the United States was “negotiating with itself,” not Iran.
“The strategic power you used to boast about has now turned into a strategic defeat,” the spokesperson said, rejecting any suggestion of an agreement.
He added that Iran would not accept what he described as attempts to frame setbacks as diplomatic progress. “Do not label your defeat as an agreement,” he said.
The spokesperson also criticised internal divisions within the United States, claiming they have reached a point where Washington is acting without external engagement.
He warned that regional stability would depend on Iran’s military strength, adding that energy markets and geopolitical conditions would not return to previous levels unless Iran’s position is respected.
The statement underlined Iran’s refusal to enter into any agreement with the United States or Israel, signalling a hardening stance amid ongoing tensions.
“Our position remains unchanged,” the spokesperson said. “There will be no agreement.”
The comments highlight continued strain between Tehran and Washington, with no sign of formal talks despite claims from the US side.
