The Federal Government has directed civil servants working at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, 27 March 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The directive was issued in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to the circular, all access roads leading to the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phases I, II and III, will be closed from Friday to Saturday, 28 March.
The government said the restriction is due to the use of Eagle Square for the APC national convention.
“All Ministries, Departments and Agencies located within the Federal Secretariat Complex are informed of the closure of all access roads around the area,” the statement said.
Workers in affected offices, including those at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been directed to stay off-site during the period.
The government also instructed heads of ministries and agencies to ensure full compliance with the directive.
The APC convention is expected to attract party leaders, delegates and supporters from across the country.
Officials say the gathering will focus on internal party matters and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
