In a landmark decision to improve the welfare of workers, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has approved a new minimum wage of ₦75,000 for state employees. This development follows extensive consultations with organized labour to address pressing concerns about workers’ livelihoods.

Announcing the decision, Governor Alia highlighted his administration’s dedication to empowering the workforce that drives the state’s progress.

“Our aim is to empower the men and women who keep our state moving forward,” the governor stated. He further assured workers that outstanding arrears would be addressed, starting this November, in line with the state’s budget.
