An airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force in Shawu village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, has sparked controversy, with reports of civilian casualties.

Witnesses claimed the attack, intended for bandits, mistakenly struck the community. Resident Salihu Bamle Bakatsine described the incident as tragic, reporting multiple deaths and injuries.

However, state security commissioner Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu refuted claims of error, asserting that the strike was a deliberate attack on a known terrorist stronghold. Local officials confirmed four fatalities, with the number of injured yet to be determined.
