The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released timetable for the 2018 private candidate of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), also known as General Certificate Examination (GCE).

WAEC also noted that the its private examination would be in two series starting from 2018, which is scheduled from January to February for the first series and between August to October for the second series.

The examination body also noted that the first series is primarily for candidates in urban settlement and will start from January 29 and ends on February 12, 2018.

WAEC has also reiterated its plan to partner relevant stakeholders to make the exam available to prison inmates.

According to the Head of National Office of WAEC, Olutosi Adenipekun, who spoke with newsmen, the collaboration facilitate development and transformation of the inmates, adding that life after prison should be made worth while for them through the acquisition of education.
