N-Power has reinstatement its commitment to be fair and free in the selection process of volunteers, even as the scheme delays in releasing final list of successful applicants.
Recall that N-Power had completed assessment tests for applicants since August 2017, with applicants pre-selected and called for physical verification in the later part of the year, but eager applicants keep pressuring the scheme to release names.
NPower has also said severally that pre-selection is not final selection, that the names of verified applicants would still be checked to avoid mistakes committed in the first batch, which had costed volunteers their stipends
N-Power was also accused of trying to manipulate the list in favour of some applicant. One Olofu Ene Joy on Facebook said they have been kept in the dark for too long, with changes in their tactics of making applicants wait needlessly.
Olufu said, “Npower, you are not transparent as claimed. Give specific dates and stop rig ma rolling with people’s intelligence. This is officially a federal government initiative for Christ sake, if FG has not given you go ahead to post the 2017 verified candidates to their PPAs, just say it. On your own path, tell FG that the youths aren’t smiling.”
To which N-Power replied that, “Ma’am, kindly desist from making baseless accusations. We shall announce and release the names of the final selected beneficiaries when we have finished reviewing the returns of the Physical Verification compilations.
“Npower is still dedicated to a free, fair and transparent process.”
