Gombe State has reported 15 deaths and nearly 1,000 households displaced since the start of the rainy season.
According to local emergency officials, recent incidents in Kwami and Kaltungo displaced nearly 200 residents, while a canoe accident in Funakaye killed five people.
“The situation is worrying. We are working with local authorities and partners to provide relief,” said Haruna Abdullahi, Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Emergency Management Agency.
In Sokoto, torrential rain earlier this month destroyed 2,200 houses across 61 communities in Rabah Local Government Area. More than 5,300 households have been displaced, with at least two fatalities confirmed.
Humanitarian groups are urging immediate intervention to support victims and prevent further losses as floods continue to threaten vulnerable communities in northern Nigeria.
