Accreditation has kicked off in many polling booths as Edo state residents decide the next governor in elections today. The process began at several polling booths as early as 8am as promised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The commission says that 19 candidates are contesting in the Edo election but the battle is largely between Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress and Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party who are the main candidates.
Meanwhile, Punch reports that soldiers have arrested some motorists in second junction, Akpakpava road in Benin for wandering.
It also reports that policemen and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel have denied accredited journalists passage at Ramat Park by Auchi Junction.
