Information reaching FELLOW PRESS has it that the Federal Government has commenced the second phase of the NPower Volunteer programme, with the selection of 300,000 successful applicants.
N-Power is a Social Investment Programme of the Nigerian Government initiative geared towards empowering youths through skills acquisition in different categories. The youths are also paid N30,000 monthly stipends in the nex two years. The programme kick-started in December 1, 2016 with about 200,000 volunteers.
The announcement also said the successful applicants will start receiving emails and SMS notifications from November 19 and would be deployed starting from November 21.
This was contained in a statement issued by N-Power Volunteers’ Network (npvn.npower.gov.ng).
Out of the 300,000 selection, NPower Teach takes the largest quota with 170,000 candidates, followed by N-Power Health with 57,500 candidate. 65,000 selected in N-power Agro, while 7500 was allocated to the newly introduced category N-Power Tax.
The statement in part reads, “The Federal Government of Nigeria is pleased to announce the commencement of the second phase of the N-Power Volunteer Corps Programme, involving the selection of 300,000 successful applicants.”
The information added that the Federal Government partnered with states in the country and FCT to deliver the best for N-Power programme, as all successful applicants were share to state to handle their deployment to their places of primary assignment.
