The Chairman of Code of Conduct, Mr. Danladi Umar is to be investigated by the Senate on allegations of corruption leveled against him.
The Senate is to proceed on the probe of Mr. Umar following petition submitted by Senator Obinna Ogba in the interest of group, Anti-Corruption Network which raised the allegation the CCT Chairman. Mr Danladi Umar is accused of fictitious contract for the supply of office furniture and fittings in the sum of N11.4 million, among other allegations.
The same petition has been submitted to the House of Representatives against the CCT Chairman. Senate President, Bukola Saraki, referred the petition to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions for legislative work.
Mr Danladi, who is the CCT Chairman is the same person hearing the case of false assets declaration against the Senate President Bukola Saraki.
