1). President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday received meeting proceedings and resolution of the National Minimum Wage Negotiation Tripartite Committee. Report says the document contained proceedings of all the meetings the Committee had, including the resolution to have N30,000 as the new minimum wage. It’s expected that president will make his final pronouncement after going through the document.

2). A newly constituted election tribunal for Osun gubernatorial election on Monday granted the exparte applications brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for substituted service and to take custody of the certified copies of materials used for the just concluded exercise. Justice Peter Obiora, who delivered the ruling on behalf of the Tribunal Chairman, Justice Muhammad Siraju, said the tribunal was satisfied with the report of services and that there was merit in the application.

3). The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has said that there was no plan to impeach the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode. The lawmaker, while dismissing the current rumours on plans by the House to impeach Ambode pointed out that impeachment was constitutional and has its process, but added that the lawmakers were not embarking on that yet.

4). The Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Tiger Edoror was Monday impeached. The impeachment followed a motion moved by the member representing Oredo East Constituency, Hon. Osaigboyo Oyoha. Hon. Oyoha alleged financial misappropriation, anti-party activities and corruption against the former Deputy Speaker.

5). Mr. Sharibu Nethan, Leah Sharibu’s father has disclosed that his family was terrified with the recent murder of Hauwa Leman, by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). The father of the only Dapchi school girl, who remains in captivity made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST. He appealed to president Buhari to act quickly in order to secure the release of his daughter.

6). The Department of State Services ( DSS), has denied that five of its personnel aided Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to escape from his Umuahia home on Sept. 14, 2017. A statement on Monday by the Public Relations Officer of the service, Mr Peter Afunanya, said that the purported report was fake, mischievous and defamatory.

7). National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiohmole, on Monday, dismissed as untrue the reported gang-up by APC governors against his leadership of the party. Oshiohmole, who fielded questions from State House correspondents in Abuja, said only one or two out of the 23 state governors under the platform of the APC were vehemently opposed to his leadership style.

8). A coalition of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidates have insisted that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole must be removed now. The coalition, in a statement, described the former Edo State Governor as cancerous, accusing him of causing much of the crisis brewing in the party.

9). The Director of Strategy and Documentation of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Olisa Mbakwe on Monday announced that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu has been sacked from the group. Mbakwe said Kanu was fired for placing more value on his dog than those murdered in the struggle for the realisation of Biafra.

10). The immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday appeared before a Federal High Court, Lagos, and was charged with N30.8 billion fraud. The defence counsel, Mr Kanu Agabi (SAN), informed the court of a motion on notice for the bail of the accused. Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, consequently adjourned the case until Oct. 24 for the hearing of the bail application, ordering that Fayose be remanded in EFCC custody pending the hearing on the bail application.
