Fake madman caught with N100m cheque Ilorin, almost set on fire
A man in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, who pretended to be mentally sick has been caught with a cheque of N100 million, pictures he took with top politicians in the country and four ATM cards.
Source added that other items caught with the middle age supposed madman that arouse suspicion that he faked his madness include condoms, Valium injections and a smart phone.
He suspect was apprehended along Ministry of Environmental and Forestry at Ahmadu Bello Way in Ilorin, and was almost lynched by a mob was saved by another man who was clad in native dress.
According to an eyewitness who said she arrived as at the time the madman was caught, after he was searched by people.
“I ran away when I noticed the people are about to lynch the suspect,” she added
The picture of the man and a brief description of what transpired when he was apprehended quickly spread through the social media.
Reacting to the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) Kwara Command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, could not attest to the arrest of any fake madman, though admitted he saw the purportted picture circulated on the internet.
