Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari-led adminstration for not arresting the former Chairman of the defunct Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdularasheed Maina, for embezzling N2 billion, but returned him to civil service.
Maina, who fled Nigerian since 2015, was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on its website. But on his return, he has been promoted to a higher Cadre in the office of Ministry of Interior.
Reacting on his Twitter account, Fayose said, “Someone accused of stealing billions of pension fund was returned to the Federal Government civil service and you still think Buhari is fighting corruption?”
Fayose’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, also criticised the Federal Government for being bias when dealing with corruption.
Olayinka said, “Nigerians are worried Minister of Interior, Dambazzau and AGF brought back their boy and friend who was standing trial for corruption, Maina into the civil service, and promoted him as Director. They don’t even know he’s not just ordinary Director, but that of Human Resources.
“Louis Edozien that Jonathan sacked in the NDPHC for forgery and corruption after audit, has since been made the Permanent Secretary in Buhari’s biggest ministry, Federal Ministry of Works, Power and Housing courtesy Abba Kyari, and of course you know PermSecs award contracts.
“The General Manager (Audit and Compliance) of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, NDPHC, Maryam Mohammed that audited Edozien has since been fired by Kyari.
“I can count on and on so many like them who are back into the system.
We can’t even say half of what we know about this government.”
