President Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday, presided over the first Federal Executive Council meeting in 2018.
Held at the Presidential Villa Abuja, the regular midweek meeting has in attendance the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and many other top governments officials.
Also in attendance are Mr. Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Mrs. Winifrey Oyo-Ita, the Head of Service; Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser and Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari.
The meeting which started around 11:00am is expected to table issues relating to federal ministry of transport and other pressing matters the country is currently facing.
A source at the Presidency who pleaded anonymity said one of the top issue on the agenda is insecurity rearing its ugly head into many states of the federation as Nigerians were urshered into 2018.
“Top on the list for discussion is the Benue crisis of herdsmen and farmers, insecurity in Kaduna and others. The council will definitely make headway today to iron out those issue,” the source said.
