National Assembly chiefs to hold emergency meeting today

National Assembly Tuesday summoned an emergency meeting for its leadership, which may not be unconnected to issues of defection and forthcoming general election, FELLOW PRESS reports.

The news which was broken by Bankole Omisore, the Special Adviser to the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Monday through Twitter, reads, “NASS leadership will tomorrow meet at noon to consider some national issues. The National Assembly leadership comprises both @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR.

“It will be followed by another meeting with the leadership of @inecnigeria led by its Chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu.”

According to reliable source, the meeting will be attended by Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and other leading members of the legislature to review issues bordering on 2019 general elections

It was also gathered that the meeting will also see into recent defections that have caused controversies in both the Senate and House of Representatives.

It was further gathered that the leadership would also discuss the recent defections, which had generated controversies in both chambers.
