Meet Kwara State next gov, Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman

Questions have been asked, curiosity displayed, people are anxious to know the pedigree of this man coming to upstage and challenge the King’s dynasty, the establishment and those who have held Kwara in the jugular.

Impossibility only resides in the belly of low thinker. Kwara is not a forever conquered fiefdom as some are made to believe. It’s time to salvage it by spirited Kwarans, time to make a liberated kwara of your dream a reality.

Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman was born on September 1st 1957 in Shonga, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State. He is married with children and he is Nupe by tribe.

Abdullahi attended N.A Primary School, Shonga, from 1964 to 1969 and proceeded to Government Secondary School ( GSS) Omu-Aran from 1970 to 1974 and then the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU) from 1975 to 1979 where he obtained a B.Sc in Business Administration and graduated with a Second Class Upper Division (2.1)

Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman is a full fledged member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a financier of the party.

Abdullahi is currently the Executive Director, Agromatrix Nigeria Limited, which started in 1988 and still progressing in leaps and bound.

He established the agricultural inputs company and developed it to its current level of success. He is responsible for overseeing all major aspects of its operations, management and charting overall direction of company and policy.

Abdullahi was appointed a member of Minerals and Metals National Technical Working Group for Vision 20:2020 in 2009 and was mandated to chart the course for the minerals and mines sector towards the achievement of the vision 20;2020 goals.

He was once a member of the Nigerian Railway Board, 2004 to 2007 and Chairman, Railway Reform Implementation Committee, 2006 to 2007. He was the chair of the committee responsible for investigating the problems of the nations railway network and recommended the best approach to its improvement with innovative solutions targeted at propelling it into the 21st century have been proffered and are presently under consideration.

He serve as member, Nigerian Railway Board from 2008 to 2011

Abdullahi also served as member, National Sugar Development Council (under the chairmanship of Honourable Minister of Industries) from 1992-1994 and a member, Technical Committee on Sugar Development, 1993-1994. Implementation Committee on Sugar Policy for Nigeria, 1991-1992

The Governorship aspirant was a Director in the defunct Trade Bank Plc, from 1992-1999 and later resigned his appointment in August 1999.

He also served as a Director, Kwara State Grains Production Company from 1989-1992 and Kwara State Investment Company from 1985-1992

He was also an Ag. Deputy General Manager, SCOA (North) from 1987-1988

Directly responsible to the General manager and Chief Executive of SCOA Motors at the company’s headquarters in Lagos.

He once served as Commercial Manager (North), SCOA Motors and SCOAGRI. He was responsible for the entire operations of all branches in Northern Nigeria, Viz:- Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Yola, Katsina, Ilorin, Minna, Jos and Bauchi.

Abdullahi had previously handled special responsibilities which included: Development of market strategies for marketing Agricultural machinery, Motor vehicles, silos and other agricultural-related service areas.

He has also Written proposals for agric projects for machinery acquisition, tractor hire units and out-growers schemes for big agricultural projects and secured Agricultural Finance from Nigeria Agric and Co-operative Bank (NACB), other development Banks and Merchant Banks for projects willing to procure machinery from SCOA in the North.

He was a Branch Manager, at SCOA Motors, Kano, (biggest branch); Jan, 1987 and was responsible for development of Marketing of Hard line Merchandise especially Agricultural Machinery and also a Branch Manager, (Senior Manager Position), SCOA Motors, Kaduna from 1984-1986 and  branch manager, SCOA Motors, Maiduguri, 1981-1984

He also served as Assistant Secretary, Economic Relations Department, Ministry of External Affairs from July to September 1980. He participated in Bauxite, Joint Venture with Guinea.

He is the National President Edu Progressive Association (EDUPA) comprising all indigenes of Edu and Pategi Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
