The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has emphasized that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would resume the place of power and take over from the ruling party of All Progressives Congress (ACP), in 2019.
While speaking in Port Harcourt at the PDP state congress, Governor Wike maintained that his party would re-take the Federal Government in 2019.
Meantime, the state chairman, Mr Obuah, in his speech, alleged that APC was behind recent killings and violence in the state, stressing that the party was scheming to achieve a declaration of state of emergency in the state with the alleged sponsored violence.
Obuah, who lauded Governor Wike for his successes so far, said those plotting the downfall of the government will not succeed.
He said: “We supported the former governor, Mr Chibuike Amaechi, for two terms of eight years. Why has he and his supporters deliberately refused to support the PDP government in the state? I am very sad about the recent upsurge in killings in the state, but I suspect the APC is behind the sudden wave of violence in the state.”
