Mr. Melaye is under fire after his constituent in Kogi West signed petition to recall him, and has acussed Governor Yahaya Bello as the mastermind behind the move to remove him.
Saraki speaking at the plenary yesterday noted that he did not really know why so much efforts are wasted on the recall issue.
“All these energy and efforts could have directed to better use and more important things. In the end process, the whole issue will still pass through us to authorize whether it is satisfactory.
Summoning the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekwaramadu, to explain the processes, Saraki said 10 years of leadership is no joke.
Senator Ekweremadu had earlier pacified Melaye after he besought the Chamber’s intervention, saying the recall move was dead on arrival.
