    – Ribadu highlights success of Operation Whirlwind in curbing smuggling
    – Nigeria Customs Service surpasses 2024 revenue target by N79 billion

    National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has hailed the removal of the fuel subsidy as a key factor in halting fuel smuggling across Nigeria’s borders.

    He noted that the subsidy mainly benefited neighboring countries like Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.

    Ribadu also acknowledged significant improvements in border security, praising the Nigeria Customs Service’s efforts under Operation Whirlwind.

    Additionally, the service has surpassed its 2024 revenue target, collecting N5.07 trillion as of November 12, 2024.
