National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has strongly denied claims that he once labeled President Bola Tinubu corrupt during his tenure as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The allegation, made by Northern Star leader Hajia Naja’atu Muhammad in a viral TikTok video, accused Ribadu of previously condemning Tinubu’s financial dealings but now serving in his administration.

In response, Ribadu, through his lawyer Dr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), dismissed the claim as false and malicious, demanding a retraction and public apology within seven days. The legal notice warned that failure to comply would result in legal action, including a claim for damages.

Ribadu stated unequivocally that he never accused Tinubu or other politicians of corruption, neither in private nor public. He further accused Muhammad of attempting to incite violence against him and tarnish his reputation.

The NSA’s legal team insisted that Muhammad’s statements had caused “irreparable damage” to Ribadu’s credibility, given their widespread circulation on social media.

If Muhammad fails to retract her statements and issue an apology in five national newspapers, Ribadu has vowed to pursue legal action to protect his reputation.
